Mindfulness for children 9-14 years old


Research knows that this period of life is of significant neurodevelopmental change for most of the children, characterised by second most dramatic period of structural change in brain architecture after infancy.

It is of great importance of planting the seeds of mindfulness at this age, as a gift for a happy and balanced life.

Children, adolescents and young adults are sensitive to stress and fears.

Mindfulness helps, to deal with their thoughts and difficult emotions.

They learn to develop new skills like problem solving and to find solutions.

This program is particular well suited to support transition.

    In this 4 lesson curriculum we explore issues around :

    1. Attention

    2. Worry

    3. Sleep

    4. Relationships

      Session content program:
      Exploration of the function and structure of the brain involved in daily experience
      Introductory mindfulness practices animations
      Discussions
      Exercises students can try in their own time.
